At Second wind yachts we are able to offer a wide range of services and works to help keep your boat in tip top condition to provide safe, reliable and efficient service throughout the season. We can help with all aspects of boat ownership and are always happy to provide advice free. We have formed relationships over many years with engineers, shipwrights, riggers, sail makers, electricians carpenters etc. There is literally nothing we can’t help with from a complete re refit to a gel coat repair. Annual service works

Refreshing the antifouling and anodes is an essential part of routine annual maintenance. We use our trade accounts to get the best value on Hemple, International and Joton antifouling and MG Duff, Gori, Maxprop, Yanmar and Volvo anodes.

Underwater coatings are wet sanded to prepare the surface and get the best Finnish, improving fuel consumption and speed.

Topside cleaning to remove rust staining and water marks can prevent longer term damage, we then compound and UV wax polish before applying a gel coat sealant that will ensure the hull stays clean and shiny for the whole season with a simple hose rinse to remove salt and restore the just polished look.

Teak

If you’re lucky enough to have real teak decking, seats handrails etc. then now more than ever given you can’t buy it,  it’s important to have it cleaned and preserved. Our cleaning and brightening gives the wood a new lease of life while our anti fungul wood preservative will stop it silvering and protect the wood making the boat look great for much longer than cleaning alone.
